Bushmills Banquet Menu has gone to print!

Nov 17, 2021

After weeks of thoughtful planning, participating chefs have finalised the Bushmills Banquet menu. Ticket holders are in for a real treat from the minute they arrive at the iconic Giants Causeway Visitors Centre.  The menu celebrates the launch of Slow Food Causeway.

Taste Causeway is now an accredited Slow Food destination. Slow Food stands for Good, Clean and Fair food, and supporting the artisan producer, of which Taste Causeway has in abundance. Bushmills Banquet has created a menu featuring at least 24 members.

You will be greeted by an exclusive drinks reception by Old Bushmills Distillery with warming mulled whiskey or a refreshing whiskey cocktail. Lacada brewery Portrush will be serving their firm favourite West Bay paired with Glens of Antrim crisps and a tasting opportunity of the soon to be launched Giants Basalt rock gin served with Troughton's tonic from Armagh.

Jacqui from Warke's Deli Portstewart will be serving a selection of mouth-watering canapes using the very best of local produce. Warkes deli has a dedicated Taste Causeway retail section and her menu will inspire you to buy local for your next dinner party.

You will be seated in front of a fabulous feasting platter from The French Rooms. This platter is designed for grazing throughout the evening featuring Irish Cheeses, pates, dips, oil, bread and local chutneys and preserves. As you settle in you will have a choice of wine, Titanic Cabernet Sauvignon or Nyala Sauvignon Blanc, a half bottle is included in your ticket with the option to purchase additional wine with your server, payable by credit card.

Gary Stewart from Tartine at Distillers Arms and his team of guest chefs such as Rob Curley from Slemish Market Supper Club and Sean and Trudy Brolly from Ocho Tapas Bistro will present you with a number of taster plates and dessert. The menu is inspired by the place and its rich providence and celebrating the award-winning products that have been accredited over the past year and very recently at the Blas an hEirann Irish Food awards and Great Taste awards.

Our menu is a point of reference, a manual,  to the selection of food that will be served. Worth taking home as a souvenir of this special evening but also a reminder of all the great producers we have on our doorstep.

The organisers are committed to ensuring the benefits of this event which has been part-funded by Tourism NI in partnership with CCAG Borough Council filter down to the many small businesses that have suffered during the pandemic.
